Home Sweet Home

Looks like we'll be calling this house "home". The builder has verbally accepted our offer. We are only waiting on the signed copy of the contract and we are good to go. YAY!!

As you can tell from the pictures, we'll have a lot of work to do in the yard. Right now, the yard is covered in weeds and crab grass. Thankfully, we are moving at the end of Summer and Fall right around the corner which will make nice weather for working outside.

We'll send out our new address in a few weeks.

Have you found a house?

That is a popular question these days. Trust me when I say, we want the answer more than ever. We have put in an offer on a house in Angier. It's a one story with a finished bonus room above the garage, Grey siding with black shutters, cul-de-sac lot, over a half an acre, nice neighborhood, great price....

What's the catch right? Well, someone beat us to the punch. We did put in our offer, but this was after someone else put in an offer; however, from what we've heard the other offer was very low and ours was asking price. So now we wait. There is nothing else we can do at this point. Hopefully the builder will not counter to the first offer and accept ours.

We are still scheduled to close on August 27th on our current home. This date, however, may move up a couple of days since we don't want to close on a Friday.

Hopefully, we'll have an answer as early as today and of course we'll keep you posted.

House update

For those of you that have been following us the past 12 months, we have finally sold our home of 8 years. It took a lot longer than we had ever imagined, but we are breathing a sigh of relief. We are praying that the next month and a half go smoothly.

So far we are scheduled to close on August 27th and it looks as though we will be closing on a new home the same day. Yep, that's right....the same day or after. Not what we had planned, but so far it looks that way. We will be looking at new homes this weekend with our agent. I honestly hope that we are able to make a decision this weekend. I'm ready for this part of the process to be over.

October of 2008

I've haven't posted on our July 4th weekend in VA. It has been a whirlwind since that weekend so I haven't had the opportunity to upload all of the pictures that Lori took for us. Thank goodness she always has her camera. Kevin and I are really bad about taking ours with us. Anyway, stay tuned. As soon as I have more than a minute, I'll post some pictures.
